DJ Lantern has been playing for over a decade. Raised in Northern Virginia he's risen to the top of the D.C. Baltimore club circuit. Having a number of high profile gigs, he has gained much respect in the local surrounding DC area. A master of mixed genres, his best skills are displayed in Breaks and Hard House but has been caught playing just about every other genre in the EDM dictionary. Lantern is currently holding residency at Transit in VA, where he has been pushing the nuschool funk sound of breaks and has been getting more than a flavorable reaction from the dance floor. Over the past few years, DJ Lantern has locked down a huge number of gigs in many different cities. DJ Lantern has played along or opened with such acts as Stanton Warriors, The Crystal Method, Krafty Kuts, DJ Icey, Donald Glaude, Josh Wink, Richard Humpty Vission, Dj Micro, Jackal and Hyde, Dieselboy, Hive, Dj Icey, Dj Craze, Sharaz, Dieselboy, AK1200, DJ Fixx, Deekline and Wizard, The Rouge Element, Tom Real, Dj Mutiny, NAPT, Paul Oakenfold, Sandra Collins, John B, Lisa Lashes, Mauro Picotto, Lee Coombs, Scott Henry, Baron, DB, Dj Dan, Elite Force, Reid Speed, High Contrast, Mampi Swift, Charles Feelgood, Rabbit In The Moon, Baby Anne and many more. He's dropped his science in various cities on both sides of the Atlantic, such as D.C., Baltimore, Philly, Richmond, Pittsburgh, Nashville, Miami, Seattle, Chicago, NYC and London. DJ Lantern is one of the rare few Yankees who (alongside DJ Proxxy, the main man behind DC Breaks and Essential Breaks), were invited to play at Herbal, Medicine Bar and The End nightclub in London.  Without a doubt, DJ Lantern is a true Breakbeat enthusiast for the D.C. area and beyond...

In the summer of 2004, the veteran of DC, DJ Proxxy, played his first set with the upcoming local favorite DJ Lantern. With over 20 years combined experience under their belts they then formed Proxx – A – Lantern, a tag team duo which played anything and everything under the sun. Starting off playing multi – genre sets of hard house, breaks and drum and bass, they quickly gained respect from the local scene. By the late summer of 2005 they had managed to play almost every major local / big event in the DC Washington metropolitan area. By winter 2005 they had landed a gig in London UK at Herbal nightclub alongside heavy hitters Deekline, Napt, The Rogue Element, Tom Real and Dj Mutiny. That was only the beginning. The years following had them traveling all over the US touring in various cities with a variety of headliners. Their track record of who they have opened for or played alongside is remarkable. Starting in 2006 they became residents at ULTRA music fest in Miami Florida and Starscape Music Festival in Baltimore Maryland. Also in the winter of 2006, they returned to London to play 2 more shows. One at the late END nightclub and one at Medicine Bar in London. Running their Essential Breaks parties in DC and holding residencies at various parties, they are a staple in local favorites in the DC area. They have played in cities such as New York NY, Chicago IL, St Louis MO, Seattle WA, Nashville TN, Pittsburgh PA, Philadelphia PA, Baltimore MD, Richmond VA, Charlotte NC, Dallas TX, Fort Lauderdale FL, Miami FL, London England and many more to come.

Proxxy and Lantern currently push the nu skool funk sound of breaks and the nasty electro fidget sound of house with a dash of dnb and everything in between. Two masters of their craft, they continue to push forward with countless dj gigs in the local areas and beyond. Their live show is a sight to see as their resident MC spits out rhymes to go along with the sick beats of the two DJs.

Added to their lineup over the past year is the dance company named DystRucXion.  These girls combine exotic dance moves with entertaining and energetic routines to hype up the crowd and emphasize Proxxy & Lantern’s skills.  After becoming some of the most sought after individual dancers in the DMV, this group of girls came together under company founder Jessie Wedell.  Known for their ever-changing outfits and costumes, DystRucXion never disappoints and is always a crowd pleaser.  Their style of dance changes with each venue as they have performed at some of the most prestigious clubs and music events on the East Coast, ranging from The Boston Nightlife Awards to Pacha NYC to Starscape Baltimore and to ULTRA music fest Miami.  Their talents don’t just stop at dancing – they range from DJs to aerial silk artists.  With the music industry always evolving, you can be that these girls will be the ones at the forefront alongside friends Proxxy & Lantern!
